| I want to create a good rock organ in reason. I'm searching for organ sounds like in band as wolfmother, deep purple and the doors. The ones in reason aren't so great. Does anyone knows how to create a good rock organ in reason. ps: I'm using version 3 |

I find the organs in reason to be quite good. What I tend to do it split the signal and layer them back together, one untreated and one through the scream unit. Then I put a reverb unit on the mixers AUX send and give the tracks a dose of reverb (to taste). On the way out of the mixer use some compression and EQ. In addition to this I may originally split the signal 3 times and give the 3rd split a massive amount of reverb (from a new reverb unit) and turn the volume on this track right down. Use the seetings on the reverb to blend in this 3rd track ie the HF damp, high freq etc. Don't use to much reverb!!! Reverb is best when it's not clearly noticable but missed when it's taken away. |

I find that almost no samples sound "good" without some sort of processing. I don't think any of the artists you mentioned or any other famous artists use samples without some processing. Deep Purple used Hammond Organ, you might want to find some refills of that.

errrmm it's a bit of hassle, no internet at home????? That was really just an example of one way you could approach processing an organ sound. Reason is brilliant because there are a million way's to do everthing. Never take anyone's advice as gospel, it is just advice. Each to there own when it comes to making sounds, take peoples tips onboard but come at it from your own direction. My organs don't sound very similar to the likes of Wolfmother as that's not the style of music I write, although I am a fan of theres, infact I listen to the radiostation that "unearthed" them down here in Aus. |
