| I'm currently using reason 3 on my pentium 4 pc. I also have a notebook and want to install reason on this notebook. The notebook is a pentium 3, 700mhz, 512 mb ram, 20gig. Would reason run smoothly on this notebook without any latency problems? Thanks |

Hmm, I don't know, it might run smoothly if you're just running the program reason and nothing else, but that might be pushing it. The ram is definitely okay, but the processor isn't all too good. I say install it, if it doesn't work to well then uninstall it. And if it doesn't you might want to upgrade to something with a little more processor speed.

It would run, but you certainlly couldn't finish a track on it. If you keep the effects down to a minimum you should be able to compose a song on it but as soon as you start messing with EQ units and the advanced reverb you'll have loads of problems.

I've done it. When I first got Reason 3 I used an IBM Thinkpad T20; 700MHz P3 CPU, 512MB RAM, 20 GB HD. Later upgraded... a few times. Point is it can be done. Only thing is your license allows for Reason to only be installed on one PC at a time, if you're concerned about that sort of thing. |
