| I'm a complete newbie to computer music writing. I'm disabled and can't play a MIDI keyboard. I can, however, use the arcane and seemingly half-forgotten NOTE, blobs-on-sticks, on Virtual Manuscript Paper. I'm a trained music theoretician. Is there a view in Reason that comes up like a sheet of manuscript paper, so you can just select voices (sounds), assign a voice to a stave and put notes in place with a mouse? You can do it in CUBASE, I know, but CUBASE redefines the meaning of the word pain. I'm sorta hoping everything here isn't blobs and barcharts. If there isn't, is it possible to use REASON as a virtual instrument inside CUBASE? All I want to do is have somewhere I can put notes in place with a mouse on virtual manuscript paper. Once I've got the basic tune roughed out, THEN I can try out all the distortion functions, etc! Please, just so I can get started with this thing, is there a notation view? Yours hopefully ulrichburke |

I think Ulrich was refering to proper music notation ie crotchets, quavers, semibreve's etc. In which case the answer would be no. SG has shown you the only way of entering "notes" into reason, very comprehensibly. Best of luck with it all. |
