go up to preferences and go to AUDIO. just reset your output. oddly sometimes it dose this to me as well

If there is no sounds on your computer than there are some problems like the sound drivers are deleted from your PC or it will mute or disable from the PC.

Try playing another audio source, like an MP3 in Media Player. If that also does not sound, then your audio controller is probably muted. The Shure Mic presumably appears in the "Recording" tab in Windows Control Panel. You need to check the Advanced area after you select the Speakers in the Playback tab and make sure that the Default setting is also 44100, 16 bit.
