Do you mean that you selected FX directly into ReDrum? Because, the optimal thing is to set four "free-standing" effects in open space, press TAB and wire those effects directly into the effect sends/feeds. Then, you have four control knobs for each SPECIFIC drum. That, can be helpful, if you want a bass or a snare drum with a lot of reverb, without having a 243593568 second long hi-hat.
But, just remember, don't take the reverb overboard.

What DJ is referring to is send efffects vs. insert effects. Mainly meaning having fx wired into your mixer opposed to directly out of said instrument. I believe what you want, however, is something different. All you need to do is right-click on the fx unit you want a sequencer track for and select "create track for this device". That should give you a sequencer track for that fx unit to record any automation that you want. In general, Reason doesn't create sequencer tracks for any of the FX or mixer by default, only instruments. So you will need to do that manually. Hope this helps....

No problem, anytime....and don't ignore DJ's suggestion for other options, it is a very good one and useful one. In fact, I will add to that with the reminder not to forget that there are two sends on each Redrum channel and by default are patched into the 16:1 mixer's Aux send 1 & 2.

Also don't forget that once you have a sequencer track for a device you can Automate to your hearts content.

For example, you can use DJ's advice and use Reverb to fill an empty space and create a dynamic texture, then when your song kicks back in, pull the reverb back or it will sound muddy and messy.

Or, if you're creating Dubstep, you can leave that mud and mess for a really dirty "Skrillex-style" track. Not that I'm telling you that's what I'd do, or that that's what you need to do, but, hey, you've came to a helpful place.
