Get a program like protools or cubase, and use reason in rewire, which will use reason as one big track for your program or you can specify tracks for certain devices in reason which is even better because then you can use VSTs on those tracks. It's really cool, though I'm not even in a stage of my producing skills to get into that. I just know about it though...

Oh yeah and how does this help you with recording audio? because cubase and protools can do that while reason cant. two minds are better then one and two programs in rewire are good too.

Default Adobe Audition 3.1 The Best For Recording Voice and Instruments.

I use Adobe Audition 3.1

ProTools only works with Hardware made for it.

Cubase you can get it around, but is not easy to learn

Adobe Audition is the Best for me.

Here is my link to download with updates and key I made for me personal use and backup:

http://hotfile.com/dl/77981861/4ea9c...n_3.0.iso.html

Now if you decide to download the 3.0 from another source you can go to Adobe and download the 3.1 free update from them.

Now some antivirus will say that the Keygxxx is a virus, but that is false, so disable to be able to use it to get key and activation.

1. Install the version 3.0
2. Use key to create serial
3. After installation choose, Phone Activation
4. Copy installation key (some numbers) to key maker and generate the activation key.
5. No Register, bla, bla
6. Close and install update
7. Open and go to > Edit > Audio Hardware Setup > and choose your default sound card usually says "Audio 3.0 Windows Sound" for your computer default, but I have installed Asio4All that helps my sound card even more.
8. Go to Options > Monitoring > Audio Mix > Always Input
9. Under File, etc you have the Edit - Multitrack - CD, Choose Multitrack View.
10. Click Record "R red button" in one of the tracks to make it active
(M -S - R) , save with a name, after that go down a look for a red circle button and click to start recording.

Now to add effects to voice or instruments, that is another tutorial. I am going to sleep now is almost 4am in here so tomorrow.

I tried to do a thorough job of researching virtual recording studios before I purchased reason, but I don't remember seeing anything about not being able receive vocal input. What a bummer!

Good grief, the whole point of buying Reason was so that I would't HAVE to purchase ProTools or Cubase. And I just checked out Adobe Audition...it was like $300!!!

On my old computer I downloaded some very inexpesive software called n-Track Studio for about $49.00 which recored vocals just fine. I think I'll do the same thing again; then export what I do in Reason to n-Track as a wave file so I can record the vocal tracks for it there; and then use the the NN-XT Digital Sampler to "sample" the resulting wave file, enabling me to play, record, and add the finishing effects to the vocals in Reason. (Except I believe the program now costs about $86.00, but that still beats $300.00 by a long shot.)

Hmmm try looking into Abelton dood, that one you can record audio, vocals, instruments whatever. Im sure you can find it on the net somewhere, and its rewire friendly too.
