Default Psy-trance help.

Im starting to compose Psytrance.....daunting task as I have no musical theory background but decided to start Piano lessons just so I can get to know scales and chord progressions....anyway.

Would like someone to teach me how to make that Organic SQUELCHY sound that is popular in a lot of Psy.

Been playing around in Thor with a Saw wave and found that if I open and close the Frequency filter while moving the Pitch up and down I get something "kinda" close but its really difficult to control it to what I want it to sound like. Also want to get a saw wave moving slower(if this is possible - without loosing the actual note Im playing) so I can hear the start of each new cycle of the wave more clearly instead of it sounding like a flat note sometimes. (not sure if Im explaining correctly).

Any help?

Look for eXode's ReFills at the official Propellerheads downloads section. Its been a while since I used them but if memory serves me correctly there was some neat psy-trancey sounds included.

Also, a lot of the sounds in psy-trance actually uses Arpegiators to obtain that certain "wobblyness". And remember to use detuning between the osc's you are using i Thor. Phasers also comes in handy...

Thanks, can't download anything untill next week though. Ill post a link soon to help you guys hear the actual sound Im looking for. I already have the Psycrafter Vol1 ReFill but its not in there so wanted to create it myself from scratch.

Have you used this specific sound before?

You have a link to a track/song on Spotify or similar or perhaps an artist that can work as "inspiration" for the sound you are looking for?

So I've managed to get something close to what Im looking for - basic Psy-Squelch sound.

Used Subtractor, Saw wave, both osc on the same octave,....while the note is running, open and close the frequency, at the same time -up and down with the pitch bend wheel....or you could use the LFO'S but I think theres less control that way (one set to pitch and one set to frequency - then just adjust rate and amount of each while the note is playing)

Obviously it gets more tricky to control it to a specific pattern but I think Ill sit with it for a while.
