I need someone to point me in the right direction.

Ive been having a hard time with automation. I can get my Automation tracks to work with instrument parameters and all, but for some reason I cannot figure out how to have effect parameters automated. On my current project, I would like to have the Scream 4 damage control knob automated. If someone could please give me a quick rundown or point me to a good link I would really appreciate it.

You would do this the same way you would an instrument. The only hang up is (and I think might be your problem) you need to create a sequencer track for that effect. So, just right-click on the Scream in your case, and on the drop-down menu at the bottom should be a option saying something like "Create Track for Scream". Do this and you will have your track in the sequencer. Now just make sure it is selected when you want to record your automation and everything else is exactly the same as any of the synths.
