Yeah, it's possible (even if not particularly elegant). 1. Use the editor to place the drum pads on, say, Channel 16, and the keys on Channel 1. 2. Go to Edit->Preferences->Advanced and select your MPKmini on Bus A. 3. Go to the rack. Select Advanced MIDI in the hardware interface device. 4. There you'll see 16 dropdown boxes, one for each channel. You can now assign a different device to each channel. 5. Switch to the Transport note lane in the sequencer (or any other non-audio note lane) so that the inputs don't overlap. |

Perfect - that's actually really easy. I had a feeling it had something to do with that but it was pretty late and I had already been at for hours so wasn't thinking clearly. Thanks a lot! |

Cool, but how do you record the MIDI to the sequencer now? I remember coming up against this problem before... pg 122 in the operation manual says: "Incoming MIDI data on that bus and channel will now be sent directly to the selected device. In other words, the master keyboard routing (the “In” column in the sequencer) is bypassed." So it's not possible to record MIDI when using the Advanced MIDI in the hardware interface device? |
