I'm actually planning on doing a few rock tracks in the near future. Reason has an excellent collection of bass guitars and power drum kits, and I'm sure it's got a few nice lead guitars as well, although I still prefer the real thing I just picked up a brand new Stratocaster the other day, and I'm hoping to lay down the base track in Reason, and then record the guitar on top of it. |

Speaking of Stratocasters, I really like the StratPack2 ReFill... Good for some pretty nice leads if you don't have access to "the real deal" in terms of hardware "axes"... |

Yeah, I've done a fairly nice rock track in reason. It definately can be done. I'll have to go and look at that re-fill now, because reason lacks good guitar patches...

I haven't really made a "rock" song per say, but I have used rock elements/instruments to give a rock sound to a song. I agree with Lem, guitars are not easy to come by, at least good ones....bass has been easy to work with, as has keys...there are good drum kits/samples, but to get them to sound "live" and not static takes a little more work than just programming in a pattern, at least for my taste. PS - Where did you find that stratpack 2 refill Bath, I can't find any info on it anywhere... Dose |

It's available for free from the ReFill section at http://www.combinatorhq.com I think it was made in 2005 or something, but I actually like it and it works like a charm with Reason 5. In order to access the download section you have to register but thats also free. |

Hey guys- I don't say I enjoy "Rock" programming, but I am a fan of Deathcore and Metalcore drum programming. Typically I'll load a heavy hitting sample into Dr. OctoRex, keeping only the bass and snare. It's cool, too, programming in a very low BPM (50-75), giving much more room for quick 32nd note fills. It makes a great foundation track for practicing guitar. |

| I think it's on page six of the refill download section.

I think so too... Or you can type in "stratpack" in the search-box. |
