| When i've created my drum/sample patterns on seperate devices in the rack, i place them in the main sequencer window in the relevant order. No problem at all. When i play the sequencer to hear the finished track, it just plays all of the instruments in the rack constantly, making it impossible to hear what the finsihed track would sound like. I'll be eternally grateful if anyone knows how i sort this out : ) I'd be tearing my hair out if i had any! Thanks in advance for any advice. Currently got 3.0 loaded up. |

Are you using Redrum and Matrix pattern sequencers to create your patterns then copying to sequencer tracks? If so, make sure you turn off the "Pattern" buttons. If you don't do this, the sequencer is going to start and play those regardless of what you have programmed in the sequencer. Dose |

Yeah, sort of. I try not to get too complicated with things. As a start, i have the basic mixer, then i add a redrum and produce a pattern on there. I'll then add an NN-19 sampler with a matrix sequencer to arrange the sample in. I'll then add just the two patterns (one from the redrum and one from the matrix) into the main sequencer in differing orders. As i said above, they'll just both constantly play even though they shouldn't according to the sequencer. I've just tried turning off all of the "pattern" buttons but then nothing played at all. I'm really puzzled by this : ) Many thanks for your help so far. I hope you'll have the patience to help me a bit more, i'll try to give you as much info as possible. I do appreciate this |

I'm a little confused....you say you are putting the patterns in the main sequencer. What do you mean by this? You should be putting the patterns in the respected instruments sequencer track. For example...Redrum, you create a pattern, open up your sequencer and select Redrum, then right-click on the actual redrum and select "Copy Patter to Track". Now your pattern should be in that sequencer track. Now you would do the same with your NN19, but after you select the NN19 in the sequencer, right-click the matrix and copy pattern. After all of this, turn off patterns on the instrument/matrix, then arrange your patterns accordingly in the sequencer... Dose |

Dose808, you are an absolute star! What i had been doing is copying the pattern from the matrix into the matrix lane on the sequencer, instead of into the NN-19. I tried it the way you said it and it's worked a treat. Many many thanks indeed. I think i'll stick around this forum as i could be needing more help in the future, if i start dedicating a bit more time to making a few beats again. Once again, thanks for your patience mate |
