Velocity Editing

If I record a track with multiple notes on the same beat such as a chord or when hihats and a snare fall on the same time I cannot not seem to find a way to change the velocity of just one of the notes.

As I use the pencil tool to draw the velocity of the selected notes, all other notes get their velocity edited as well.

If that makes any sense to anyone please let me know what I am doing wrong.

Just hold SHIFT when you draw in the velocities. This will affect only the selected notes.
