| I'm planning to buy an affordable compact keyboard as a secondary controller next to my M-Audio Axiom 61 2nd gen, and the MPK Mini seems quite nice. Among others I would like to control the song tempo with this controller, more specifically with one of the knobs but they don't seem to be endless ones. There are 2x4 endless knobs on the Axiom and they feel quite precise when I assign it to adjust tempo but I would like to use them to control the Combinator's knobs. Are these non-endless knobs practical to control such parameters as tempo where a bit harder tweak could end up in significant increase or decrease in song tempo? Or is there a way in Reason to set custom intervals to tempo e.g. 50 as min and 200 as max instead of 1-999? Thanks in advance for any help! |

Tempo is one of the few parameters that cannot be limited directly (most other parameters can be limited using an intermediate Combinator), but what you can do is limit the range of your non-endless knobs on the MPK Mini itself. Download the Preset Editor, and adjust the Low and Hi limits of your knobs as desired. So if 0-127 maps to 1-999 bpm, something like 6-25 would map to 50-200 bpm. |
