Default Advise on Hardwares Setup with Reason

Hi All,
I am very new to Reason and is very excited when i heard that I could control reason with 2 or more controller to a single PC. Right now I am preparing the hardware setup to go with Reason and thinking of purchasing some additional hardware(audio interface, midi interface, etc) for home studio and also for gig.

I have just visited the local music store and the owner was telling me that fo rme to connect all the controller to the mac that i am using, i would only need a usb hub.

The setup for me prior to reason was as follows:
- 1x Korg Radius
- 1x Microkorg
- 1x Korg Prophecy
- 1x Novation X Station
- 1x 10 channel mixer
- 1 x Korg KP3

What I wanted to achieve:
The problem for me is that I wanted to preserved all the above equitpment for the analog sounds and also use any 2 of the synth as controllers for reason. I am also looking to get another syn module and a pad controller( dedicated for Kong).

Questions:
1) Do i need a midi interface? to link all of them together or should i purchase more maudio uno(which i am using now and link them to a usb hub? Or should I midi through them?

2) With Reference from the above setup, how many in/out for a audio interface should I be getting? Am thinking between Apogee,Focusrite or Motu

Understand this is a lot to ask for a thread but was looking on some advise for the setup. Advance thanks to all.

Thanks
Kenny

Hello,

You may find some advice useful on this thread:

http://www.reasonforum.com/reason/23...ds-matter.html

That should set up your two synths as controllers.

The rest should be fairly easy to sep up in a similar process, (Preferences page --> "controll surfaces and keyboards". Use the "automatically detect input" for the easiest set up) and providing all the usb drivers are installed, Reason should auto detect them when you click a key, or button etc.

You can have A LOT of control surfaces connected at the same time once set up.

Hope this goes some way to helping.
