hi to everyone on the boad,

I am a relatively new user to Reason 5. i own a Macbook with Snow Leopard and use Garageband as well. Well I was using Reason for a few months now with no problems, just flawless program. But today, I was trying to convert the audio slices from a REX loop to notes by clikcing on the "Convert automation parameters to notes" and my computer stopped for a second and showed the loading mouse icon and all of a sudden Reason quit! I got the error Reason has quit unexpectedly.

I have the crash report as well. From the crash report though its not pointing me any direction. it says thread 0 is the blame, but thread 0 only contains propellerhead reason executions.

So I dont know what to do. I want to know what caused this. Do you guys have Reason crash on your macs too? I have over 4gb of ram so I dont know whats to blame.

Personally, Reason/Record is one of the only, if not the only program I run that has never crashed. I'm not sure if I can be much help with this, so my suggestion (other than seeing if anyone else on here might offer some help) is to go to Propellerheads site and post your problem on their forums. Those forums are occasionally browsed and viewed by tech guys and developers that could probably help you out better than I could. Just a shot in the dark, but it sounds like Reason is conflicting with a driver or another program that is hanging you up. Sorry I couldn't be more help...good luck!!

Hi there,

When you say "Reason crashed", are you saying it was a one-off crash, or does the program now fail each time you try to load it?

Try Dose's suggestion - most common hang ups are caused by conflicting drivers or conflicting IRQ's.

If that fails, you can try repairing your installation, or using system restore (though that should be a last resort).
