| - MIDI Controller - M-Audio Oxygen 8 v1 (powered by USB) - Sound Card - M-Audio Delta 1010LT - DAW - Reason 3 Initially I had it set up on USB (updated drivers installed). When trying to assign the rotary knobs to soft synth parameters, I found that the knobs do not auto-detect correctly: Knob 1 (registers as Mod wheel) Knob 2 (registers as Knob 3) Knob 5 (registers as Knob 7) None of the other knobs register at all. I have also tried assigning them manually. Pitch and Mod wheels work fine. Since swapping to MIDI (as I did not have the card above at first), I have found the same problem to exist (it's still powered via USB though, could this be having an effect?). The audio settings are correct as far as I can tell, as the above knobs register at least. I have attempted a reset as described in the manual (MIDI/select - Reset - Enter - MIDI/select), but to no avail (and to be honest I don't know if it would apply to this anyway). I suspected a hardware issue with the controller as Reason had the unit listed as a supported device (clearly distinguishing v1 as opposed to v2), so I find it difficult to fathom how the default settings wouldn't work. I have discounted a problem with the MIDI controller settings due to the 'reset on power off' issue - I don't see how any erroneous settings would actually remain on the controller. I have since been in touch with M-Audio support, who said that I either need to check the software settings or buy a new controller. It's important to note that the item was second hand on eBay, but the seller claims it was all working fine for him, and described the item as "perfect... mint/excellent condition... non-smoking environment... replaced with two v2 models". I see no real reason not to trust this as he has 100% positive feedback and comes across as reasonable, but I'm open to the possibility of a duff unit. Any and all suggestions appreciated! |

Update: I just tried swapping the registered MIDI controller to the Newer model of the Oxy8 (just the settings, the physical controller is still the one being used). Knob 1 still registers as Mod wheel. Knobs 2 and 4 not at all. The rest now register just fine! I'm now convinced it's a settings issue. Can anyone suggest a fix? |

i DONT KNOW IF YOUR OXY8 has reason preset as the axiom does but its possible that it does.. anyway as i said in a previous thread check to see what preset your keyboard has to be on to be fully funtional with reason...its usaully preset 2. when i get home ill, post the m-audio with reason presets to see if that will help out... |
