Yeah I had the same issue. First I went to edit> preferences> Keyboard and control surfaces. Then deleted all attached surface controllers EXCEPT the one I was using. Second I clicked on Options> and clicked on Enable Keyboard Control so that it had a check by it, and this solved my problem. Hope this works for you. Wish you the best!!! www.youtube.com/bamboobeats www.myspace.com/bamboobeats Last edited by Bamboo Beats; December 17th, 2010 at 00:00. |

Man! Im having the same problem.... Ill play a melody- it sounds fine while im recording but right when i play back it f's up..... the notes are super short and quiet... almost as if the release as been brought down to 1.... sometimes just little clicks... Its weird because it only happens to half of the instruments.... doesnt matter if its a poly synth- piano- string...... doesnt matter if its chords or just a riff..... whether its malstrom or thor.... its almost like it chooses to act up randomly.... ive been using reason 4.0 for like 3 years and just recently upgraded to reason 5..... never had this problem until a few days ago.... Somebody help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I have the same problem, when recording a synth or a piano, when i sustain the note on the keyboard it works, but reason will only trigger like a quarter note....if i hit a bunch of notes at once, one might sustain, i've enabled keyboard control and deleted all over midi controllers in preferences. please someone help!! This song i am doing requires sustains in certain parts, otherwise i would just set a standard note length after the fact. Does anyone have any other solutions!! PLease help!

Try this.....i went to the propellerhead main site and went to their update section. i clicked on the reason 5 update and it tells you you have to uninstall reason 5 off your computer first. once you do that you start downloading the update and once it completes it tells you to load you dvd disk for reason 5 and it re installs it. I went back to record music and its working for me. so basically i guess you have to uninstall and reinstall it back on your computer. it was driving me crazy but it seems to be working now so i hope it works for you guys......good luck! |

Except Record 1.5 works fine. I open up Reason 5 files up in Record and everything tracks perfectly. Computers and software. I am going to do an uninstall and reinstall, hope for the best. Moogy |

The problem may be your keyboard or controller may not be listed on the reason soft ware, if you are using windows this may solve the problem. i got this advise via email from the propellerhead web site,- How do your notes look when you view them in the Edit window ? Is it doing this in any song ? Is it doing it with any instrument ? What happens if you open an old song that you recorded successfully ? If it is working fine in other songs then it has to be a problem with the current song file you are using. The problem may manifest itself in other new songs if they are based on the same template/default song which has the problem in it. Try a new song (not based on any previous template song you may have created) and see if you still have the problem. If this is happening in any song, then the next step is to ditch your preferences, just to see if it is a Reason setting that is causing the problem. To do this, quit Reason and go to: C:\Users\user name\AppData\Roaming\Propellerhead Software\Reason and the file is called 'Reason Preferences.prf' (with a key icon). Remove this file to somewhere safe and easy to get to, such as your desktop. Launch Reason as the very next app and it will build a new preference file for you. Now try your song out to see if that fixes the problem. If the problem persists, then it is not a setting in Reason that is causing this so you will need to look elsewhere, such as your keyboard. You could also put your old preferences back where they came from, if you want to. If it does fix the problem then you can just bin the old preference on your desktop. |
