Default Sound problems in Reason 4

Hi there.
Recently, I've got this lil bit nasty problem.
I've made a beat yesterday. It sounded good, high endy, clear. I've droped it to wave file and forgot about it. Today I came back to the project to fix some stuff in it. I opened it, pressed play and... whole thing didn't sound like it was. Suddenly it became lowpassed, all the crispiness and clearity was gone. As though as it was passed trough small amounts of lowpass filter or downgraded to much lower bitrate. I even compared it with the mixdown from yesterday to check if maybe there's something wrong with my ears or something. But no. It really sounds filtered. And that's - obviously - is a huge problem for me, since that beat I was working on was a commision piece. So if I don't get things straight again - I'm screwed, so to speak.
Any thoughts on possible solution? It'll be much appreciated
Thanks in advance an cheers

Default You need to check a few things

You need to check

1. On the Reason Menu Edit/Preferences - Page Audio that the sample rate is set to a minimum of 44Khz

2. On the Reason Menu Edit/Preferences - General that Use High resolution Samples is Ticked

3. You also need to check in Windows Control Panel for Sound Card Settings that any high quality ticks are ticked.

4. One last thing you may need to have a tinker with the very top instrument in reason which is the MAstering suite as it may have changed.

I hope these ideas help

Kind Regards,

Default Help!

Hi I'm a complete noob to all this. I've just installed Reason 4 and am using a Korgx50 controller. Trouble is my sound quality is horrible (especially noticable with piano patches) and I'm experiencing lag which makes it near impossible to play properly. So damn frustrating having no know how on the whole thing.

Hi groove,

To confirm with you, visit this post:

You will need a better quality sound card to the one you are currently using. This may solve issues with both latency and sound quality.
