I experienced a similar problem with my music files was told that the recording quality had deteriorated over a period of time so the pitch was varying.

Hmm, that may be it. However, as I am typing this now, my iTunes is playing away and is making quite big leaps in volume every 1-2 minutes or so. What's happening?!

There may be a scratch on your cd if your using one that make the song jump quite a bit or else if it' a pen drive your using it may be a virus iniside,you need to have it checked out to ave your file if they're on the pen drive.

Sometimes I have the same problem, but t goes away if I restart reason.
