Default Please help - Cubase rewire problem!

Hi there!!

Just set up my studio again and I have come accross this problem. I remember having the problem ages ago!! And fixed it somehow but i simply cant remember how!!

I have instelled cubase SX3 first, then reason 3.

I open cubase and wire reason up. Then i open reason. It just hangs on the splash screen and does nothing! TM says not responding. I have to kill process and then if i try to open again i get an error until i close cubase, then it opens!!

Please help! lol

You need to wire Reason , only when they both started up ...

1: Start Cubase
2: Start reason ( Check if its in the reWire mode )
3: Then add the Rewire channels into Cubase (Mix L , Mix R)

This should work , cos it works for almost 4 years now in my case (Reason 4.01 and Cubase 5 now though ...)

Hope this is the problem , otherwise i have to take a look deeper into it ... (And since i cant see whats going on on your system , this would be a problem ... )

Hi thanks for replying!

But it wasnt that, I figured that it was a problem with the fact that i had my driver set to release ASIO in background in cubase. Reason had obviously tried to grab that driver when loading and thats why it jammed.

I'd leave this thread up for a while because there may be more people with this problem.

Answer: Just disable Release ASIO in background in cubase devices panel.
