Unhappy Midikeys Transport and Subtractor

Hey guys,

I'm fairly new to Reason and just now messing around and figuring out the basics. I currently dont have an external Midi Controller available so I have to make do with the Midikeys software. I (believe I--) have the software set up correctly. Reason responds to Midikeys and I can use the keyboard shortcuts to create sound in Reason. However, when I try to record notes in Reason using for example the Thor device, the Transport module does not respond to my Midikeys input even though the Thor creates a sound. When I manually edit my Thor device, it IS possible to record the notes. What am I doing wrong here?

I think the solution might be simple and I feel that this is a question asked and answered before but I couldn't find it using the Search box so if I am repeating a question I apologize.

Thnx!

that has to be in the setup/preferences section, I can't come up with any other reason for it not to record what you're doing. If you didn't have the track selected it wouldn't be making noise... stumped otherwise.

Thanks! It was in the settings/preferences menu. I had to manually add Midikeys as a keyboard and now transport recognizes it as well. I hadn't thought of this because Thor already made sounds when I used Midikeys.
