Single Hit

How can I ad a single cymbal hit to the end of a song.
Can I automate Redrum or load a kit into Dr Rex?
I can't find and easy way to do this.

I figured it out

Select Redrum and kit
then record the section you want it in but do not select anything
in the Redrum sequencer, but draw it on the track as the entire kit is there.
