Default slide between notes?

How do you slide between notes on reason? when I use my pith bend wheel its impossible for me slide the wheel down half precisely half a step, and its also hard to be precise when I'm manually adjusting the pitch wheel lines after I record my track. Is it really this hard to slide between D# and D?

Default

Whatever instrument you're using, there will be settings for polyphony, retrig/legato and portamento.
Set poly to 1, meaning only one note will be played at once,
turn on legato (def: tied together),
and mess with the portamento knob, which determines how long the slide between notes will take.
On Thor and Malstrom you don't have to change the polyphony setting, turning on legato alone does the trick.
