| I have a strange problem, maybe you can help me... I have the USB midi cable connected in both devices Piano/PC and I can hear notes played from my piano in my PC. When i step on my sustain pedal, it plays a middle note 'E' instead to sustain only. Now you imagine... When I'm composing, suddenly step on my pedal and "BLENG" there it's, the middle note 'E' destroying my composition. Do you have any idea why can be happens this? Is there any solution? Can I configure something about this? Thank you very much. |

sounds like a connection 'fault' to me. Just a question in return, how long do you have this keyboard of yours? and... did you ever had this problem in the past, it did it recently started to happen?

i'll just admit right here, I am not to well known with most midi keyboard. But when you said it doesn't listen to the Pedal, I am assuming that its not a faulty connection but more a misinterpretation (i hate typing that word) between the midi keyboard and reason itself. Have you tried "auto detect surfaces"? (i think you probably did that one) Does it help to switch between keyboards from the preferences in Reason? You could for instance try a different manufactorer and see if that solves the "E" issue. What most keyboards setups do, is they always listen to the midi range of 0-127 (since thats the standard). However, there are some keyboards that have different knobs, settings etc. Those manufacturing settings map them differently. However, the normal keys should always still play. Maybe that might give you an angle to sort it out. Dunno. Like I said, i am not a keyboard specialist. So, for me its just plain guessing right now. |

I have a yamaha too (psr e313) with the same pedal, I'm wondering if on your keyboard there's a setup for what function the pedal triggers. I remember something strange like that in my manual, but it's hazy at this point. Also, if you haven't already done it, go to the propellerhead site and DL the 4.01 update, you never know what they've fixed w/that.
