| When I click through all the different instrument sounds my keyboard seems to play them all correctly but when I try to play a drum kit through my keyboard none of the keys play the drum sounds. I can fix this problem in remote overide edit mode (which is really time consuming) but then once I close reason and try to open up the drumkit again i have to reprogram all the keys again. theres gotta be an easier way to do this right? also when I'm using redrum and I program a beat by clicking the light up step buttons, how do I record that beat onto the device lanes below? |

| Right click on the numerical-pad on the redrum (pattern select) , and choose edit automatisation ... , a new track appears on the sequencer now ... , now you can automate the patterns on the redrum ... (By drawing in what pattern should play .. )

This might be your issue as far as the keyboard: Redrum recognizes C1 through A1 Another way to get the patterns into the sequencer is to right click the Redrum>Copy Pattern To Track. If you do it this way, turn off the "pattern enable" button on redrum or you'll have it playing twice and sounding strange.

Thanks guys that helps alot. I got one more question though. Once i got my drum pattern in my track all the notes look black instead of red how they usually are and I can't edit them. If i click around some more everything turns to blue and all sorts of weird stuff starts happening. I have the same problem if I try and edit the notes that I recorded with my keyboard onto reason.

you can add multiple sequencer lanes to a single redrum. Right click on the left pane of the sequener and click "new note lane". And Additional "copy pattern to track" adds this for you. |

Thanks, you guys are great! Whats the easiest way to load an entire song into reason? I converted the song I want into a wave and tried to load it into the NN19 digital sampler but for some reason it wont let me find the file (even though i saved it on my desktop in plain sight)

Well , actually thats a bit useless , loading a complete song into a NN19 ... Reason aint the platform to perform this kinda actions . If this is the way you work , then you should consider Rewiring into a DAW who can handle wav/mp3 files as well (Cubase , ProTools , Live , Acid , Reaper ...and off course Record ) Greetzzzzzzzz

So it's not possible to get songs that Ie recorded before onto reason? Like I have songs from audacity that are just bass and guitar so I need to load them into reason so i can add drums. theres no way to do this? say I want to repeat a certain drum pattern for a few mesures and then repeat another drum pattern with a faster tempo afterwards. is there any way to do this or does reason only allow you to create beats with redrum that are all the same tempo for a song?
