You are naming the problem right there. Tempo... Even if you have measured the right BPM on what the song is playing, you are still going to have a problem with it since most songs will go out of sync with the amount of BPM which is measured.
Problem is, Reason IS NOT a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation). Its more ment to engineer sounds with, and build sequences rather then placing MP3 on a track and go from there (this is probably also one of the main reasons why MP3 is not supported in Reason).
There is a way to come around it though... however I would not even start 'recommending' it since you are a beginner and you probably would not have the patience to do it.
My suggestion here: Look up Ableton Live or Cubase. These are probably the tools you want to use instead of Reason. To be farely honest here.
