| I'm still developing my skills on Reason 4.0, so please excuse the rather simple question :P I've noticed that certain instruments, upon pressing the note, starts off really quiet and then gradually gets louder (example, the Media Lab Pad.Thor sound file). Is there anyway that I can adjust the instrument so that it's loud straight away on pressing the note? If so, how? Thanks! |

there is a thing called "Velocity". This 'thing' can be connected to for instance Filter Envelope, Amplitude Envelope etc. It just depends on the device or instrument on how this velocity is behaving. There are 2 ways to solve this issue: - On the sequencer you have a velocity lane. This thing is usually located under the part of the note lane (sometimes hidden, sometimes not). - you could change the Velocity -> Amplitude Envelope amount settings of the patch that triggers it. With thor there are different methods to make these changes though. You could also use last Midi Key Velocity -> Amp, Last Midi Key Velocity Filter and the list kind of goes on Hopes this help... I guess you are not reading this back, since this seems to be the most common behaviour I have noticed on this forum :P |

Hey Hydlide! Thank you ever so much for the reply! I'll check it up when back at home. I've really wanted to do that to quite a few instruments as there are some awesome instruments there that I would love to use in some tracks I tried searching the forum and unfortunately could not come across any related material |

Right, at home now and checking out Thor :P Sorry to sound silly, but I can't seem to find the Midi Key Velocity For example, I am on the instrument, Medial Lap Pad. I pressed "Show Programmer" and it seems to be not there |

Check the Amp section. There is a velocity knob located next to the Amp knob. If that thing has a value, then it 'listens' to the velocity settings as well. (If i load up the patch, the Vel settings is at 38). Ow, and another thing I just realized inside this specific patch. Theres an Amplitude Envelope which controls the volume (marked as "Amp Env"). The notes will gradually increase in volume since the attack (A) value is slightly upwards. If you reduce the attack on the Amp Env, it will make the notes come in at full strength each time you press the notes. At least, if thats the kind of effect you are going for.
