| I've heard lots of people having problems with 'bad format' over the years when trying to open old song files created in Reason 2.5 in Reason 3 but that this issue has possibly been 'resolved' in the update 3.0.4 I was wondering if anybody would be so kind as to let me send them a small loop created in version 2.5 on a Mac OSX 10.3.9 to make sure it opens OK without the 'bad format' problem before I purchase a full registered copy of reason 3. The file is small only 576KB and has the samples self contained. Perhaps you could PM me your email and I'll send you the file? I'd really appreciate this. Thanks Jack |

Well I have reason 3.0.4 for pc. But I'm a little confused are what you talking about here is a midi file or a reason project file? Edit: Nevermind reread your message, well I could do this, as long as you're not trying to send me any virus or anything. |

It smells like a worm virus, don't you think? Everybody gots 3.0.5 since it's free for all reason 3.0 owners. I flipped from 2.5 to 3.0 and i never had that kind of trouble. By the way, i been working with mac enviroment all my life. Then, if you got that doubt anyway, before you purchase the newer version, you could try it from: http://www.propellerheads.se/download/index.cfm In this demo version you can load your older files and try them. This demo is a 3.0.5 version, you shouldn't be worried in advice about some bug from versions like 3.0.2, 3.0.3, 3.0.4, alright? Good luck. Darbo |

Fair enough. I downloaded the 3.0.5 demo but it wouldnt open the song file due to 'media related problem' I have about 100 files like this. Does that mean they're all screwed? Admittedly they were created some time ago in a version of 2.5 and backed up onto disk. I took them to a friend but couldnt load them in his 2.5 due to 'bad format' just thought if I could get them to work in 3.0.5 then it would be worth buying. As I couldnt get them to work in the demo I just wanted assurance that they may work on a full copy. I appreciate the cautiousness regarding a virus/worm. would be a bit pointless dont you think? Anyway I'm a Mac user looking to send the file to another Mac user so the whole virus thing isnt really relevant. If they're screwed they're screwed. Just a shame to loose them all. Thanks for reading the thread anyway Jack |

Right I've gone through all of the files and some of them open and some dont. Most dont. In fact only about 12 out of 146 open. Does that mean the ones that dont open are gone/corrupted forever? Why would only some of them be bad format? anybody else had similar problem? Jack |
