Default Help with mixing and peaking

Hello all, I thought I would shoot this out and see if anyone could help. I'm using Reason 3 and Sonar 6 home studio. My problem is that I am red on the mains of sonar and can't figure out how to either insert a compressor on the mains or whatever else might be necessary to bring down the levels on the mains. I have inserted a compressor on individual tracks and have managed to control the peaking on the tracks but I still need to do something about the peak on the mains.
even if you just have an idea, I could use the help. Am I making this too difficult?
All of my levels are fine with Reason but when I add Sonar (guitars, vocals) It takes me into the red.
Please help if you can.

Thanks
bobb

If it puts you considerably far into the red, consider dropping the master on each just a little bit, there's only so much a compressor can do. Sonar, I'm sorry to say is a mystery to me.
