Wondering if your process if off-kilter... when you create instruments, then combine them, only the top instrument will be hooked up through it and the others will still be connected to the main mixer. that's why on the front of the combi you'll see "external routing" lit up in the window. In the combinators where you've got this going on: Create a "Line Mixer 6:2" and hook each individual instrument to it, then the output of the mixer to "from devices" on the back. It should look something like this attachment...
