| I used reason 4.0.1 build 973 with Windows XP on this Desktop PC for quite some time now without problems. All of a sudden, however, and I do not see a connection to other recently installed hardware or software, reasons freezes whenever I try to save something. Sometimes even when I want to open a sample or some file from the soundbank. This is totally frustrating since whats the point in creating something that I can neither save nor export =( Please help me if you have an idea...reinstallation has not helped anything. I will be thankful for any advice! JJ |

Installed IE 8 recently? Just saw somewhere that IE 8 breaks reason somehow, but that switching to firefox or going back to IE 7 fixes it after a restart. I can't imagine how the two would be related but it's worth a shot

I have an idea... if you have a ton of refills installed try moving a bunch of them out of the reason folder and see if the problem stops

Well...so now I went through all I could figure out...however without much success. First I backed up my refills and my .rns files. Then I deinstalled Reason. I deinstalled my entire soundcard driver etc. Then I reinstalled both (first sound card of course). Once I started Reason and clicked save....it froze right away. So I really do not have an idea except maybe reinstall my entire XP...but that would take up way too much time and work than I could currently efford. Any other ideas anybody? |

Allright...so in a last attempt I played around in the Setting section especially in the Midi Device section I disabled the older devices. Next I used older system restore points to "travel back in time". And now all of a sudden it seems to work. I dont know which one did the trick but as long as it runs again! So I hope this helps anybody who has a similar problem! =) |
