Record does not suffer from this problem, as the sample is on a track that is 'constantly updated' (doesn't need to be triggered to play), similar to Ableton or Cubase.
A possible workaround is if you can get luck with automating the sample start. If you go to the point in your song where you need to check, and trigger your sample to play from the beginning AT THAT POINT, then go to the sample start perameter, and trigger the automation at exactly the right point, it would essentially "skip" the front of your sample and play from where you want it to.
This is NOT an ideal way of doing it, as the longer the sample, the less presise the sample start perameter is. It's just a POSSIBLE workaround, untill you get record.
By this i mean that a very short sample, the time inbetween 0 sample start and 1 sample start would be 1ms, but in a 5 minute sample, the difference would be over 1 second, with no way of fine tuning.
Record is the way to go, but I would wait until Reason 6 is out, as Record is being discontinued and fully implemented into R6 as a single program. | Thanks for all the info! I'll be definitely getting R6 as soon as it's out, until then I'll be fine.
