| I purchased Reason a couple days ago, because I've seen what people do with it when in Rewire with Logic, and I really want to add it to my setup. I pretty much know my way around Reason, but when I use it in Rewire with Logic, there's something I still can't figure out. Let's say I have Thor opened in Reason and start playing it with my MIDI keyboard. If I go back to Logic, I can see/hear sound coming through the Aux channel where I have Reason. All good so far. Then I create an instrument track in Logic and put a synth in it and start playing with my MIDI keyboard, and what happens is I will hear both, the synth from Logic and Thor from Reason at the same time. Is there a way to change this? I mean, only play Reasons instruments when its Aux channel is selected? Go easy on me, please Thanks a lot |

i had the same issue and i figured it out. you have 2 programs open. reason and logic. both are connected to your midi controller. when you hit a key, it will fake you out because you think that the sound is coming from logic (both the reason and logic instruments), but what's really happening is that you have 2 programs both emitting noise! the ONE sound you want through logic is playing, and the sound you DON'T want is actually outputting through Reason! how to fix: go into Reason -> preferences -> keyboards and control surfaces from there go ahead and turn off all midi keyboards from inputting into Reason. your problem has now been solved. |

You know... you could just record arm your transport in Reason's sequencer whenever you're using Logic to send MIDI to Reason's instruments. This is what I've always done. This way I've found to be more effective than disabling your MIDI keyboards in your preferences because if you want to automate anything or track MIDI in to Reason's sequencer, you still have that option. When you're done, reselect your transport. Done! |
