Default Problems with Midi setup (Redrum not responding)

I've just purchased a midi/usb cable and have started using Reason, but there is one persistent issue that I can't seem to resolve:I can't play the drums manually on the keyboard. A few notes respond, but they are scattered all across the keyboard, and most of them just mute various drum sounds (I'm using Redrum).

I have an old keyboard, and had to set up under "other" in the preferences.

Is there anyway to fix this so I can play drums with my keyboard? I'm assuming Reason just doesn't know what keyboard keys associate with which drum sounds.

Thats because RedRum is actually a drum-sequencer ... , (pattern based ...) , try to load up the drum samples in a NNXT , so you can assign samples to your keys by yourself ...

Good luck !
