Changing Pitch Without Changing Tempo on Redrum

So I've been messing with some bass sounds on redrum, and I want to change the key for some, so I used the "pitch" knob to tweak it, but it changes the tempo of when the sound comes in ever so slightly, and its really bothering me...

how do I change the pitch without changing the tempo?
