I think I know what you mean and I wouldn't even bother trying to do this in Reason. I did something close if not what you are talking about using Audacity. I'm pretty sure I just used an echo. Of course, this will only work if you just have the drums playing at the moment unless you want everything to echo/fade. Anyway I'd suggest fiddling around with Audacity. You can stick the FX module between the main controller and the main mixer out, and control the ON/OFF with automation. So just before the end of the track (last second) toggle ON with automation.
