Question REDRUM using NANOPAD

After the Nanokey, i thought id treat myself to the pad, and after a couple of hours trying to get reason to even recognize it! im still kinda stuck on how to get a beat down.

I click options then tick Remote override edit mode. ( is that correct? )
But what do i link the pads to?
the Channel 1 play button?
this works, i hit the pad & i can hear the kick, but how do i record it?!

or am i doing it ALL wrong?
