Default redrum not recording

i am very new to reason...
i made a simple beat with a few patterns on the redrum, and i want to record it. i can't figure out how to do this...

what i did: created a beat, qeued it to record, hit play, hit stop, and nothing happened. i know i am missing a crucial step here, but what is it?

help much appreciated

on looking back on my post, i realise something much more simple to ask...

how does one record the beats he has compiled with the redrum drum computer?

...that should do...

just so you know, a completely different topic probably belongs in a completely different thread.

i suggest you make one and ask that same question.

anyway, to update this thread, i found the problem.

have a nice day/night/whatever.

Default this forum is very unhelpful

what's with the spam?
i don't like these forums man. i'm probably going to have people saying "you didnt' give it a chance," or even worse, i may get called inexperienced, a newbie, or something else along the lines of trying to protect their own mental image of this forum... but here is my exact experience of these forums...

i came here looking for help, got zero.

then later, after i found the problem, i got a reply in my thread... i was curious to see who had helped me, so i could thank them and tell them i already solved my problem, but it was someone posting in my thread about a completely different topic.

i dealt with that okay, but now i get another reply, and i'm hoping to finally tell somebody "thanks, but no thanks," and its SPAM!

nobody made any effort to help me here at the reason forum.
i guess i'm on my own.

i hope you all enjoy this forum.
i didn't.

(what especially surprises me is that it's a fucking REASON FORUM. some of the most innovative, enlightened, and chill people use reason.)

good luck with all of your future projects and posts.
peace

-Loren

Its spam indeed, it's here, its everywhere... lame people create lame scripts. Im sure that when the admin. of theboard will go online will delete all the spam posts and remove those users.

You didnt get helped couse maybe people do this only for fun, and they dont check the board as often as you do.

But im sure that if someone knows the answer to some questions asked in here, they will answer, and share their knoleadge with you.

So theres no need to get "acid", make sure you search the forums before asking your question, and make sure you read the documentation that comes packed with reason.

To answer your question, you arm your redrum for recordiing then press the main record button throughout your song change your pattern manually and redrum when armed for recording will keep track of these changes when youre satisfied with your track just stop the recording it should work like that. Hope that helps.

Oh yeah come on people try to stay on topic especially in a thread where someone needs help.

yes, i am NOW aware of the problem i was encountering and how to overcome it....

my oldest brother is very much involved in electtronic music, but ihadn't spoken with him much recently, and once i did a few days ago, he not only pointed out my flaws in attempted recording, but some pointers in the direction of increasing the quality of the beats i was creating.

regarding the pessimism that i expressed about my frustrating lack of help in these forums...

i was in a bad state... everyone here will surely understand that when you are frustrated with reason, it hinders your ability to create, and inhibited creation is an AWFUL handicap. now that i am successfully creating again, ui have decided to not lose hope in these forums, OR this program.... thank you to ALL on these forums for sharing my passion.

I seem to have a simialr problem.. I can see the midi tracks I lay down in the sequencer..but no visual rep. of the rerdrum pattern I have programed! It plays when I go back to listen. It plays as soon as I hit record then play(which is another thing I'd like to know how to stop). Any tips??
