| so i can use the Vocoder on them. I am using the nn-19, loading the vocals as a sample. but i need to choose a key from the keyboard so it will play the entire sample. This means drawing one long note on the keyboard in the sequencer window. I chose the key that makes my voice sound closest to the original pitch, but it is not exact. As a result, the lyrics are not in time with the rest of the music, it is sped up. If i choose the next lower not, it is too slow. Is there a reason device that will simply play a WAV file so I can use the Vocoder on it? thanks. |

ok -- so this is actually a very simple issue to resolve . . . first -- be absolutely sure that your vocal performance is on key (or off key or whatever you like) and in time second -- load it in the nn19 third -- note the "root note" of the sample (this is listed with some other buttons under the sample -- it is usually c3) fourth -- draw the "root note" in and presto! you're done the nn19 does NOT re-pitch your sample if you use the "root note" -- i suspect your song is in D or E or something and you hit that note thinking the vox would come out in key but in reality you are taking a sample that is supposed to play at one note and bringing it up -- reason's response is to "raise the pitch" and it's played back faster i hope this makes sense!! xo |
