Default Can't seem to route 2nd instrument

Greetings - first post. Using R4

I insert 1 instr, which is now NN-XT 1, tehn another which is now NN-XT 2. I can hear NN-XT 1, but I can't hear NN-XT 2 at the same time. I see that it's being triggered (note on light flashes) but no sound. So using the tab button, I went to the rear and changed the connections - now I can hear NN-XT 2, but not one. So, how do I get both at the same time? I am trying to use this in Cubase with rewire, but also tried this standalone. I can kind of understand the standalone not working because my audio card only has 2 in and 2 out. But within Cubase I can't get this working either? Any help? Thank you!

To get both playing at the same time, you need to combine them. While holding down the shift key, highlight (select) both nn-xt's. Now go to edit on the top toolbar and select combine. You can level the volumes for each one on the mixer.

Thanks for the reply.

Doesn't work - I did the combine, (combinator appears) but the second track still does not sound. I went around to the back, and the 2nd nn-xt is not patched anywhere. The first is patched to the combinator, but the 2nd isn't. The only way I can patch the 2nd, is by removing the first - I can not get both simul. The combinator only has one set of inputs - so where does the 2nd nn-xt go?

Tahnks again.

You need a mixer. Depends what you are doing but I suspect you don't need a Combinator at all.

First lets see if i get the question right ... lol

My guess is that you want to play 2 instruments at once , with , lets say , 2 keyboards (can be a different setup , like other controllers ...)
So that keyboard one triggers NNXT 1 , and keyboard 2 triggers NNXT 2 ...
But rewired into cubase ... ?

"that you want to play 2 instruments at once , with , lets say , 2 keyboards "

No. One keyboard.

Let's forget about Cubase for a minute, because i can not get this working in standalone either. Let's forget about keybaords as well. I have two instruments loaded, two NN-XTs. Two tracks with MIDI data. Track one triggers NN-XT 1 - I can hear that. Track two triggers NN-XT 2 - I can NOT hear that. Question is why? Well, I see why - NN-XT 2 is not routed anywhere. I can not route BOTH NN-XTs to the outupt at the same time. If you can't route both to the main output, how are you supposed to hear both?

Thanks again.

The combinator is what you need to do this. I know that this works because just for fun I just now did this. Maybe you got the wiring all screwed up. Let Reason do the wiring for right now. For now, just start over. Open a mixer and two nn-xt's. Load a sound into each one. Highlight each one while holding down the shift key. Choose "combine" from the edit menu. This does work.

Ok, got it - thanks for the help. I deleted the mixer before adding any instruments - I said, "what do I need another mixer for?" Leave the mixer, and now I can get both.

SCEZ - FYI: Your zip file doesn't work, but thanks anyway!

ThankS!
