I don't know how else to word this, so here goes.

I have a composition program that allows me to compose drum tracks via a musical staff. I am able to export these tracks as MIDI files which can be used by other programs.

I see that Reason 4 supports the importing of MIDI files.

If this sounds like a stupid question I apologize, but basically what I'd like to be able to do is to create my drum tracks via my other program, import them as MIDI files into Reason, and then utilize the Reason tracks.

I want to import the MIDI's in there, and then just save them, and then export the new tracks, and have the great sounds of Reason instead of MIDI drums or what have you.

Is this as easily done as I hope it is? I cannot afford to spend close to $200 on a program only to find it doesn't do what I want it to do.

I am not interested in learning a new interface, and quite frankly, I don't need to compose anything different with Reason. I just need better sounding drums for my demo CD so I can market it to musicians and/or record labels at some point without the drums sounding noticeably fake.

Please advise if I can do what I want with Reason. Thanks!

(shouldnt be hard to do , my guess ... Asuming youve allready have the Drum-sound-module (Redrum , NNXT or whatever you prefer ...) in the sequencer ... , import a midi .. , this will show up in the sequencer as well .. , and drag the drumsequence (midi) to the "Drum-sound-module"-lane ... )
