How did daft punk generate this sound?

What is daft punk using to generate this sound? (see link) (not the bass)

Is there a patch that would come close? I don’t need to create that sound exactly, I’ve tweaked my heart out, can’t seem to land on anything close… any takers?

It's just sampled from some instrumental track. Some big band sound with trompets and so on should be good to get a similar sample.
