Hey I'm new to Reason and I just had a quick question about Redrum. Sorry if this has been asked before and bear with me because I might have trouble wording this. So I want to put snares in certain places, like say I just wanted to start off a beat by playing just one snare. How do I make it so you only hear it at that one time and not have it play over and over? Or how can I choose when to start off the drums?

You can use automation to have the drums come in wherever you want. Or, if you have other tracks and don't want drums, just hit the "run" button on Redrum.

Are you using the patterns in redrum? If So, turn off the "enable pattern section"
