| Is it just me or is the recorded volume of all the drum samples significantly lower than that of the stock factory Reason drum samples? The sonic quality of most of the kits in the refill seems pretty good but unfortunately, due to this dramatic drop in volume, I have found the refill useless so far after about 6 weeks of ownership. Perhaps it is because I am doing my creating with the 16 bit samples? |

No, it's not the bit depth. Here is what I think is happening. Each drum sample has different volumes because of the velocity factor. Like when you load a sample into the nn-xt or Redrum, there are many different levels of volume for the same drum to allow for velocity. Open up the drums browser and you will see what I mean. You will see the same drum listed, and the numbers get higher. The higher the number, the louder the sample. What I did, was pick out my favs and load them into folders for quick recall.
