Lucky for you today there is a new product that propellerhead (the makes of reason) announced not too long ago, and it'll basically be reason, with the ability to record and edit audio, just what you need. Here check out this video: http://www.musotalk.de/software/vide...record-review/ If you can't wait for that, there are plenty of "DAWs" (which can record audio in) that you can rewire with reason so they stay in sync. Try reaper, it has an unlimited trail and is pretty lightweight. http://www.reaper.fm |

Ahh, that explains it then. A shame that, I like Reason's layout but that's crappy since I might as well just have a midi controller instead of a synth to use it. If you don't mind my blunt asking, what other programs on the market (aside from Reaper) allow virtual instruments like Reason but also allow your instrument to be used in them? For example, FL Studio - does it? I really didn't like FL Studio's layout at all as well as some other programs but this is a rather important thing to me since I spent the money for a synth. I need some virtual instruments and drum looping and etc from the program since I lack all the physical hardware to do it all externally and just record it (As my friend does on his mac with Digital Performer). I'm trying to use Reaper as I'm typing this and it's extremely similar to some of the other programs I've tried - I have no idea what I'm doing or even the vaguest notion of how to do anything in it. I like Reason because it makes sense...Reaper to me I might as well be doing open heart surgery - no idea what the hell I'm doing and it's just confusing (Sadly to the point it makes me want to get out of the music world). These programs make such little since I don't even know how I'd create a song even if I had all external equipment and just wanted to make a single midi track which encompassed all the elements I used to make a digital file. Is there no such thing as an even slightly user friendly sound recording application? I thought Reason was perfect for me until I can't use my synths sounds. I basically have an expensive toy now...*sigh* |

http://www.ableton.com But to be honest any full fledged piece of software is going to have a learning curve, I felt the same as you, when I first opened up a DAW, I thought to myself "I'll never be able to learn this!" But with some patience and just the act of making music in it (and finding all the little shortcuts and menus for the right things) you'll figure it out. Also if you really like the way reason does its UI, then maybe you should just wait or beta test for propellerhead's new program record. Which is basically reason with the added ability to record audio in, which is what you need. Check it out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oe7Iapsu_38 |

Thanks for trying, I'm just a fucking retard. I can't figure out how to use any of it. I'm just going to sell my synth and be done with the music world for good. Best of luck to you

| You shouldn't be so harsh on your self, just have patience and learn the tools you have.
