Default Playing a simple WAV file

HI there, I am admittedly a total noob to Reason. I'm looking to lay down a wav file as a base of a track, to which I am going to mimic some sounds. I have been looking through using the NN19 sampler to play it, I can load the WAV file, and have it triggered and playing, but I can only get the sample to play for about 30 seconds. Is it a reason limit to sample length??! I need to put about 8 minutes of WAV file down. Also if i scrub to th emiddle and play, it won't play the sample, presumably because it has to trigger the start of the sample on the NN19. Is there a way to 'bake' the wav into the track, so i can scrub it like any other instrument?!

Thanks alot
Kinetiknz

No because reason uses the midi note to play the audio file you're basically forced to use it that way. You could slice up the wav file so that there's more points to start the sample off on, but that is also just a clumsy way of going through the sample.

It's funny alot of people are having audio/sample related problems in reason and just now they're releasing record which is basically reason with audio recording. Check it out here:

Oh god I feel like Im promoting it or something lol, wheres my money propellerhead! :P

But if you dont want to wait or beta test that, you can always rewire reason with a DAW and handle all the sampling through the DAW and keep the midi data and all you precious composition in reason.

Thanks for the links, Record looks great, and should be nearly instantly useable after learning Reason!

Default reason wav

yeah this record is going to be amazing by the looks of things. when you think about it, up to now the props have actually been helping to sell other software like ableton, logic, cubase etc. because they haven't properly been able to handle audio. i know they are a relatively small company in comparison but anyways. yeah kinetikz, the wav file will play in either nnxt or nn19 but only for as long as you hold down the designated keyboard note that the wav is asigned to and even at that it will not play back in tempo with what ever music you create for it in reason unless you do some very very tricky arranging. Come to think of it you could play the music into reason live on your midi keyboard but neither of these options compare to using ableton live or logic (i prefer ableton for audio myself because the warping is very user friendly) or you could wait on record which i am looking fucking forward to .
