Ok, this is something I was always curious about, when you hear really popular dj's doing remixes of other peoples work, are they somehow getting their hands on (maybe from the original maker) the raw tracks of each instrument? I sometimes hear remixes of things and wonder how on earth did they separate the voice form everything else, or remove and resample just the synth.

I assume most poeple just listen for a break in the music to sample out that one instrument or sound, but are the "track" versions of songs available anywhere too or is that "cheating"

What ive been told is that the tracks come in seperate wav's (Drum , Synths , Vocals , etc) , So the recordcompanies can master it ... , i can be wrong overhere ... , but thats what ive been told ...
So asuming the above IS true , it wouldnt be that hard to remix a song ...

(I dont know where i did get the info above though ... but if u think im wrong ..just say so .. )
