Default Rewire with Cubase SX3: Reason comes in early

Reasoners,

I've really searched thoroughly through Cubase & Reason forums, but couldn't get any help.

My issue is that when I rewire Reason into Cubase, it seems that Reason transport responds earlier than Cubase's.

Let me try to explain this in a step-by-step fashion:

1) Open Cubase SX3;

2) Open Reason 4 and create one device (e.g., NN-XT), patched to hardware device 1/2;

3) On Cubase create the rewire channel (the default Mix L + Mix R) and two midi tracks. The first one i route to the NN-XT; the second one to my Roland XV.

4) On Cubase select the midi track routed to Reason's synth and hit record. All sounds great.

5) Go to zero (1.1.1.0). Hit record again on Cubase. The sound of Reason comes in earlier (about an 8th note) but sustains, like waiting for Cubase to pick the sync. When Cubase starts, things are in order, syncwise.
6) On Cubase select the midi track routed to the hardware synth and hit record. Try to record on tempo with Reason coming in early ;-)

7) Go to zero (1.1.1.0). Hit record again on Cubase. The sound of Reason comes in earlier, like before. The hardware synth sounds perfectly in time. Then (after this gimp start...) all things are in order, syncwise.

I'm using a M-Audio FW1814, so emu midi ports on cubbie are mandatory Reason, on the other hand, seems to recognize only the proper DirectMusic midi ports. This seems to be an issue, doesn't it?

Any ideas?

Thanks a lot!

PS: the usual cubase thingies have all been dealt with (ignoreportfilter, use system time stamp, etc)

PS2 --> Workaround: move project start to bar 2. Unsatisfactory, imho.
