Hello everyone, we're running a live Electronica mini-festival in the next few months in Edinburgh and looking for performers and tunes for our free podcast
.
I have set up a small website called UNIQUEBEATS (.co.uk) (please don't be put off by the site as its getting overhauled soon!)which is all about up and coming electronica (all varieties) artists as well as info about our live Electronica based events. We are based in Edinburgh (UK)and our first event is coming together really well and are hoping to have our first event in late May to early June 2009. We have a number of up-and-coming artists on the roster who will be performing during the day. We will also have "clinics" from Ableton, Roland, Korg etc (we're hoping to get Reason on board). there will then be a big show in the evening with live visuals and more established (but no big names, as we are keeping to our up-and-coming acts only philosophy) acts. It is strictly live music, and therefor we are not allowing submissions from DJ's mixing other people tunes.

So,
a)if you live in or around Edinburgh and you fancy playing your tunes to an audience then contact us through the website, with your name, and details (e.g. your biography, what equipment/programs you use, influences etc) and a link to your tracks. We'll have a listen and if you fit in with our event then we will try and book you a slot (between 15 minutes and 1 hour) at the event. We accept submissions from all ages and all genres. but remember they must be your tunes and you must be able to play them live, which means no clicking play on your laptop and pretending to do stuff, the event is about getting people excited about the music and the performance of the music. We are hoping that we will get representatives of a few small electronica labels there as well to give advice..and potentially hunt you down to join them!
Please note that if you are selected to join the event you will not be paid for your performance or travel expenses etc. This may sound a bit harsh but we are doing this out of the love of the music and are currently looking to sell tickets to cover costs of the event (which are high) and any profit will be put back in to the next event.

b)even if you don't live in or around Edinburgh we are creating free podcasts of up-and-coming acts and we can link you from the site (e.g. to myspaces, websites etc). We will be releasing this monthly with the first one due out in just over a weeks time. We will also be playing the tracks that you submit to us at the events in between sets, and we will project the name of the artists and track and web address on to the wall as each song starts so if people like your stuff they can jot down your details and visit your site to hear more. If you want to get involved with this side of Unique Beats then send us an email ( info@uniquebeats(.co.uk)) with a biography, info (influences, what equipment/programs you use) and don't forget to attach your song.
PLEASE NOTE-WE WILL NOT SELL ANY SONGS YOU SUBMIT TO US! THEY WILL BE PART OF A FREE PODCAST AND PLAYED AT EVENTS. THIS IS IMPORTANT FOR YOU TO UNDERSTAND AS PEOPLE SEND US TRACKS AND DEMAND PAYMENT FOR USING THEM WHICH WE WILL NOT HONOUR AS WE ARE NOT MAKING MONEY FROM THEM. THEY ARE STRICTLY USED TO PROMOTE YOUR MUSIC AND YOU AS AN ARTSIST AND USED TO WIDEN THE INTEREST IN UNIQUE BEATS-THUS WIDENING THE INTEREST IN UP-AND-COMING ACTS.

We are not a record label, just people who love Electronica music, trying to put on cool events and get artists out playing live and getting the recognition they deserve. If you like the sound of us then please visit the site and get involved on the forum or/and send us an email with your tracks!

Hmmm ..sounds like an nice idea ... though im not living near Edinburgh ... or even Great Brittain ... (Netherlands ...) ...
