| I have Reason 4. I am a bit new but I have watched lots of tutorials and played a bit and I like it (except that it does not have audio recording but I think if I can use Reaper with rewire then it will do for me). People say that you can get ANY sound out of Reason. So I was thinking: can I get some weird sound effects (which are often used in song intros)? I mean like the ones from Absynth (if you have heard them) - like synthetic seagull calls or glass splinters falling or some other similar effects? I would like to know some links to tutorials about how to make them on my own (although having some free refills with such sounds for starters would be great too). Thanks. |

Well to make them on your own would be a very varied process which would take a lot of skill and learning. You'd probably need to spend a lot of time going to proper classes on this and experimenting yourself. As for the refills, the good ones are never free.

Yes, I know, it is not easy Now I am reading articles on soundonsound.com/sos/allsynthsecrets to understand the basics how subTractor-like synths work and what sounds I can get with them. Anyway, still googling for tutorials... |

Yea, I know, I can buy almost everything, but that is boring and not creative... and it costs I mean something like these sounds youtube.com/watch?v=NKtUxmituok can I get something like that on Reason, especially those long lasting sounds which change a bit in time? And get that without any samples at all (I mean purely synthetic, with Thor or subTractor)? |

One tip, set the amplitude envelope of the reason stynths attack 64 and release for 64 to get the ideia then you can check the attack at 30 and release at 80, it's good for pad's then go to the lfo use the ramp lfo to the frequency filter and band pass one the filter and make changes in lfo knobs to get nice sweep effects it's easy, with thor you can do alot top synths plugins sounds, reason handle it, use higher pitch notes for bright sounds and the right waveforms in the synths.
